Administrative Offices

Vice presidents oversee each of the five divisions that comprise Binghamton University. These talented individuals work collaboratively to support the University, in conjunction with University President Harvey Stenger. The University's five divisions are:

Academic Affairs

Academic Affairs is overseen by Provost and Executive Vice President Donald Nieman, and is responsible for academic staff recruitment, retention and promotion; the academic budget; the overall leadership of Binghamton's academic plan; and communications and marketing efforts.

Advancement

Advancement, led by Vice President for Advancement Jim Broschart, oversees relationships the University has through its development activities and alumni activities.

Athletics

Athletics is overseen by Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott and encompasses Binghamton University's intercollegiate athletics operations, a department of more than 100 full-time employees and 21 Division I teams.  

Binghamton University Foundation

The Binghamton University Foundation, under the direction of Executive Director Sheila Doyle, is a not-for-profit corporation established to raise funds that further the purpose and mission of Binghamton University.

Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, under the direction of Chief Diversity Officer Valerie Hampton, supports the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives that create a welcoming campus climate that exudes a fundamental respect for human diversity in all its dimensions.

Operations

Operations, led by Vice President for Operations, JoAnn Navarro is responsible for a wide variety of safety, maintenance, human resource and service operations for the campus.

Research

Research, led by Vice President Bahgat Sammakia, encompasses more than faculty research, but the services that support research including Sponsored Funds, compliance, technology transfer, government relations and economic development.

Student Affairs

Student Affairs, led by Vice President Brian Rose, facilitates the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being of students by providing services as diverse as career development, health services, recreation, the Discovery Program, residential life, counseling services, judicial affairs, parent and family relations, and services for students with disabilities, among others.
