Dae Young Jung

Dae Young Jung received BS and MS degrees in Metallurgical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, and his Ph.D. degree in Physical Metallurgy from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. He performed research projects for nuclear fuel fabrication process development as a Research Scientist at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute for 3 years from 1973. He worked at IBM for 25 years until his retirement in 2007. He held various engineering and managerial responsibilities at a few IBM locations; Endicott, NY, Rochester, MN, and Hopewell Junction, NY. He has extensive experience in the following areas; design and manufacturing process for printed circuit boards, organic and ceramic chip packaging, semiconductor manufacturing process, electronic interconnect materials, reliability evaluation of electronic products, materials characterization and analysis using electron optical instruments. He joined the Research Foundation at Binghamton University in April, 2007. He also has an appointment as Visiting Professor in the Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science.
