First Queens Theatre event planned

The Binghamton University Alumni Association will host its first-ever event at Queens Theatre in the Park on Saturday, May 9. Admission to this event will be $45; that includes a pre-theater reception and a ticket to see the revival of the comedy The Philadelphia Story. All alumni are invited to attend. The reception is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m. The theatre welcomes Binghamton alumni to meet, network, enjoy a great party and show, and see for themselves the beautiful facilities.
The reception will complement the 1940s theme with passed hors d’oeuvres, food stations, Martinis and Manhattans. The Theatre’s exclusive caterers, Paul Evans Caterers, will provide the themed spread. Alumni can order tickets online or by calling the Alumni Office at (607) 777-2424. The deadline is May 1.
The Philadelphia Story, a revival of the classic Broadway show that marked the theatrical comeback of Katherine Hepburn, overflows with laughs and sophisticated charm. “A joyful evening," reported The New York Times on March 29, 1939. This classic American comedy, which was made into a hugely-popular film also starring Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart, is presented at Queens Theatre by the New York State Theatre Institute. If you can't make it to our event, the show runs from May 8 - 17 at Queens Theatre. Tickets are available online or by calling (718) 760-0064.
Queens Theatre in the Park is the premier indoor performing arts center in Queens. It is conveniently located just off the Grand Central Parkway in Flushing Meadows Corona Park next to the Unisphere. It is fully accessible and has plenty of free parking.
“As a Binghamton alumnus, I am excited about this opportunity to introduce our theatre to my fellow Binghamton alumni and their families, and grateful to the Alumni Association for hosting an event in Queens,” said Jeffrey Rosenstock '76, executive director of the Queens Theatre.
