Homecoming weekend taking shape
Even though we’re only about two months into the new year, Homecoming will be here before too long. Save the dates: Oct. 2-4, and make plans today to join us for what will be a memorable weekend. Contact your classmates and encourage them to meet you on campus. The more of your friends who attend, the better your Homecoming experience will be!
All alumni and their families are welcome. We’ll have special reunions for the classes of 1959, 1969, 1979, 1984, 1989 and 1999, as well as gatherings for young alumni (2003-09) and political science majors. Homecoming will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dickinson Community, 30th anniversary of the Caribbean Student Association and 25th anniversary of the apartment communities. Also, we’ll have reunions for telefund callers and call center staff members.
Tailgate was such a success last year that we’re doing it again. Bring your grills to a large outdoor barbecue to be followed by a men’s soccer game and dazzling fireworks display.
We also hope you’ll join your classmates in making a gift to the Binghamton Fund in honor of your reunion. See more information about this powerful, immediate and essential fundraising program.
Contact Todd Gurvis '84 if you'd like to help plan the Class of 1984 reunion. Classmates from Newing, College-in-the-Woods, Dickinson, Hinman, Colonial Community and Off Campus College are working on what they believe will be the first, last, unique and unprecedented 25-year reunion.
Check out the Homecoming 2009 website, beginning April 1. The Alumni Association would welcome assistance from graduates who want to help plan reunion activities. Contact Rose Frierman, director of alumni and parent operations.
