Winter Madness brings alumni together
About 600 Binghamton University alumni and friends attended Winter Madness, held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at the West Gym on campus. The event was an indoor tailgate party sandwiched between two home basketball games.

Class of '08 grad wins association's bowling title
Jeffrey Ripic '08 won the first-ever Binghamton University Alumni Association Bowling Tournament, taking home a first prize of $500. This event offered a $10,000 jackpot if a bowler rolled a perfect game of 300 in the final round. However, none of the four finalists took home that prize.

Save the date for summer golf classic
Golfers, mark your calendars for Friday, Aug. 6. That's the date of the 2010 Alumni Golf Classic, which will take place at Traditions at the Glen in Johnson City, N.Y. This is an 18-hole, Captain-and-Crew golf tournament, including prizes for longest drive and closest-to-the-pin. We also expect the event to have hole-in-one grand prizes. Lunch and a dinner reception are included.

Think Binghamton - Legislation Update
The State University of New York system and Binghamton University continue to make progress toward passage of the Public Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act.

Action needed on career credentials files
If you have credentials on file with the Career Development Center (CDC), take note of this important change: The CDC will cease operation of the credentials file service as of July 1. The CDC is recommending Interfolio, a web-based reference file management service that allows students and alumni to create an electronic reference file that can be managed 24/7.

Best-selling author talks to current students
Arel Moodie '05 knows how to get an audience to pay attention to him.  Moodie, who spoke at orientation, instructed new students, parents, advisers and others in attendance at the Osterhout Concert Theater to stand up, turn to the person next to them, give a high-five and say, "You’re awesome."
