Erica B. Garay '73 was appointed to the Commerce & Industry Council, a group of dedicated business professionals and community leaders who raise funds to support the state-of-the-art health care programs and services provided by North Shore University Hospital. She is a partner in the law firm of Meyer, Suozzi, English and Klein, P.C., in Garden City, N.Y.
Bruce D. Friedberg '80 is a member of the business development board of Hudson Valley Bank in Yonkers, N.Y. He is a partner at the law firm Friedberg Cohen Coleman & Pinkas LLP, specializing in real estate transactions.
Maj. Susan Fondy '89 is serving with the 1st Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Ky. She received the Army Aviation Association of America’s Aviation Medicine Award for 2008 for her contributions to aviation medicine during her deployment to Forward Operating Base in Salerno, Afghanistan. Her achievements included more than 100 lives saved on MEDEVAC missions, running a trauma table at the Combat Support Hospital, participation in four medical missions to impoverished Afghan villages, teaching Afghan physcians, and providing medical care to members of her battalion.
Kelly Keenan Aylward '94 is former legislative counsel to Rep. Michael McNulty. At press time, Kelly was running for Congress in New York state’s 20th District.
Jaime T. Kahan '00 (pictured at left) was inducted to the Friars Club on Oct. 27, 2008. Guests included her parents Miriam and Steve, brother Samuel Kahan '06, and her boyfriend Scott R. Rifkin '95. Jaime is a senior manager in the technology risk services group at Ernst & Young in New York.
