Alumni Leaders Conference

Conference calls on volunteers to lead, engage and inspire

The Alumni Leaders Conference — held on campus in late April — informed some of Binghamton's strongest advocates about the challenges and opportunities facing the University, and encouraged them to continue their volunteerism with the University as well as recruit fellow alumni to be involved. Inspirational speaker Scott Mautz '91 delivered the keynote address, articulating the importance of creating a legacy statement that would guide a person's work and life.

Alumni Association awards

Alumni awards ceremony is showcase for achievements and pride

Binghamton inspired me to do great things; this sentiment repeatedly came to the surface when the recipients of the Alumni Association Special Recognition Awards took the stage April 30 at the University Union's Mandela Room. The ceremony, attended by more than 200 people, was the grand finale to an Alumni Leaders Conference weekend filled with moments that evoked #BingPride among graduates who have maintained close connections to the University.

Marc Lawrence ’81, screenwriter, producer and director of films — including The Rewrite, his homage to Binghamton University — returned to campus recently to speak at Commencement and receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree recognizing his lifetime achievements in the film industry. Read more.

Ellyn Uram Kaschak ’65 did not have the financial means to attend college but knew higher education was the gateway to opportunity. Scholarships gave her the resources to pursue her studies and become a psychology professor and author. Now, she is giving our students similar opportunities.
