Binghamton University is seeking an Associate Director of Alumni Relations. The Associate Director will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning and implementing a national and international alumni chapter program that connects and engages alumni in the life of the University in ways that support and promote the mission of the Alumni Association and University. Bill Curatolo '73 retired from Pfizer research and development after 27 years. He published the novel Campanilismo: Crime and Intrigue in International Biotech (Bayberry Institute, LLC, 2013). The novel gives an inside look at the complex world of drug development.





Michelle (Shelly) Altman '75 is head writer for CBS-TV's top-rated daytime drama, The Young and the Restless. Shelly earned an Emmy Award for her work at One Life to Live.




U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Jennifer Mac Pherson '89 received the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service from the Department of the Army. This was in recognition for outstanding service and commitment while assigned as the geospatial coordinator at an operations center of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in support of response and recovery efforts during Superstorm Sandy.


Seung-Hee Rhee '91 was installed as the first woman Asian-American president of the New York State Academy of General Dentistry. In the spring, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society, at New York University's College of Dentistry where she is an associate clinical professor.

Michael Freed '99, MBA '02 received the Canon Americas Presidents Award in January; this is the highest award a Canon Employee can earn in North and South America.

Deborah Podlinsek Swartz '06 accepted a position beginning in August at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., as assistant editor of digital and social media.
