Take advantage of our Career Toolkit
By Rachel Musiker '16 and Steve Seepersaud
The Internet has a wealth of career-related information which can be a blessing on one hand, and overwhelming on the other. To make it easier for you to find the information you need — and provide a platform for Binghamton University alumni to share advice and expertise with each other — the Alumni Association offers an online Career Toolkit.
While the site is open to everyone in the Binghamton University community, the content may be of strongest interest to current students and to younger alumni. The Career Toolkit has links to articles and videos covering every step of the job search process from identifying a career field, preparing materials such as résumés and cover letters, building networks online and in real time, making a positive impression at an interview and following up on interviews to maximize the chances of success.
The toolkit is intended to be a two-way exchange of information and that's where you may be able to help. If you would like to offer your assistance to other Binghamton alumni by submitting an advice article or video, contact Courtney Huff, MS '11 in the Alumni Relations office. Our goal is for the toolkit to be a resource by alumni and for alumni.
B-CONNECTED with other graduates! B-connected is a secure virtual community only for Binghamton University alumni. Update your personal profile, search for alumni, and submit and read Class Notes.
SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE WITH US! The Alumni Relations office is asked to recommend alumni who are expert speakers. If you are well-versed in subjects including national security, politics, technology, career networking, environmental studies or etiquette, please contact Melinda Holicky, associate director for alumni volunteer engagement. Include your name, class year and a brief biography. Supporting material could include a c.v. or link to your website.
The Alumni Association and Uncommon Goods (David Bolotsky '85, founder) offer the opportunity to purchase banks made from mailboxes salvaged from Newing Dining Hall. This can be a great gift or keepsake of your time as a student.
SHOW YOUR PRIDE! The Binghamton University Bookstore is your one-stop shop for apparel, accessories and home decor goods.
