WHAT IS IT?
Metro New York is the epicenter of our alumni network and the source of nearly 50 percent of Binghamton University's student population. This creates a multitude of opportunities to engage alumni who are among our most loyal supporters in programs that further the career and professional development of our current students. Each January, Binghamton University comes to New York City for Binghamton in the City Week, a week filled a series of career discovery and networking events during a week of winter recess. Our alumni are eager to share their Binghamton stories and offer advice, and the students are able to explore career fields and employers while making valuable connections.
Metro Connections Night is the capstone event of the week at which more than 700 students, parents, alumni and campus partners gather and connect. Students gain resources to develop professionally and make valuable connections by speaking with alumni working in the city. More than 50 alumni-hosted employer site visits are offered along with academic courses, alumni shadowing experiences and networking events.
