Come splash around and have some fun!

Swimming

On a weekly basis, there are both lap swim and recreational swim times offered at the Rec Center.

Lap swim provides six lanes (slow, medium, fast) of swimming. Patrons must place themselves in a lane based on their swimming ability. All swimmers must swim in a circular pattern within the lane.

Recreational Swim allows patrons to swim at their leisure. Two lanes are available for those wishing to do laps during Recreational Swim hours. The pool has noodles, kickboards, buoys, and life jackets available for use during pool hours.

Please note: Faculty and staff have access to the Rec Center Mon.-Fri. for morning and noon lap swims (check-in at Rec Center Front Desk by 12:30pm). To access late afternoon, evening or weekend swims, faculty and staff must have either a valid Fitness Membership or Rec Only Membership.

Family Swim

Family Swim hours are offered every weekend throughout the year when classes are in session for Binghamton University students and Recreation members. These hours give members an opportunity to swim with their dependent children and/or spouse (significant other).

Aquatic Classes and Fitness

Beginning spring semester, campus recreation is now offering multiple aquatic instructional classes and fitness sessions in the Rec Center.  Aqua Aerobics and Triathlon Training classes are available along with Individual Aquatic Fitness Sessions.

Swim Lessons

A variety of swim lessons are available for people of all ages.

Red Cross Certifications

Each semester a variety of CPR, AED and First Aid classes are offered to the campus community. Every spring semester the calendar also includes a lifeguard recertification class. These classes all have additional fees for all participants and are open to members of the campus community only.
