Interested in entrepreneurship? Want to learn more about starting and funding your
own business or organization, or chat with others who have? Attend interactive Exploring
Entrepreneurship Events to learn about a variety of topics, ask questions at panels,
and engage and connect with alumni and other entrepreneurs! Events will take place
across campus and are open to all majors. RSVP's requested for each event in hireBING.

SaturDAY, March 25
New York State Business Plan Competition
9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the ITC Building
This year, the Southern Tier Regional Competition, a part of the New York Business Plan Competition, will be held at Binghamton University. Come watch as your peers present their business plans to be considered for the next round in Albany! Hop on the Blue Bus to the ITC building to engage in this event.
Tuesday, march 28
Cool Connections, Hot Alumni: Mark Mushalla ‘82
3 p.m. in the Benet Alumni Lounge
Connect with Mark Mushalla, ‘82, the Vice President and CFO of William H. Lane and owner of the Vestal Coal House. Ask him questions about his entrepreneurial experiences and learn from his story. FriDAY, March 31 - Saturday, April 1
4 p.m., March 31 - 6 p.m., April 1, at the ITC Building
The Hardware Hackathon is an opportunity for students of all majors to form teams and construct devices that are able to:
- manipulate themselves or their environment in some way
- autonomously respond to changes in the environment
- receive remote input from people
Teems must try to meets as many of the criteria above in the most complex and interesting way possible. This type of device includes most ‘smart’ products on the market today such as lights, thermostats, smoke alarms, vacuums, coffee makers, etc.
Additionally, this could include any number of autonomous/RC controlled quad copters, planes, cars, submarines, boats, etc. Students can either participate in the event by registering here or come cheer on the teams as they complete the challenge! THURSDAY, April 20
6-8 p.m. at Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts (86 State St, Binghamton)
HauteNovi, a creative network that connects independent artists across the fashion,
music, and art industries is co-hosting an event with Binghamton University, to highlight
the work of Binghamton artists and connect students with alumni. The event will include
live performances from HauteNovi’s musical talent, all of whom are all enrolled at
Binghamton, and will have fine artists showcasing specific pieces chosen for the event.
This will also be an opportunity to network with Binghamton alumni working in the
arts. The owner of HauteNovi, Tamara Freudenstein, will be also actively involved
in making connections between artists who are in need of other artists. Not an artist?
No problem! Come enjoy the free performance and explore displayed art. Refreshments
will be served. RSVP in hireBING by April 17. Just hop on a Blue or City Bus downtown
to enjoy the event.

Shark Tank-style Competition

Watch as students pitch their business ideas in front of a panel of judges, get feedback about their ideas, and make a case for why their business in the best! RSVPs are requested in hireBING. Alex was previously the Innovation Fellow & Member of Economic Development Team at Binghamton University and Cornell.
