Deepen Connections and Find Your Focus

  • Create an action plan and refine your goals
    • Determine your major(s) in consultation with academic advisors and DegreeWorks
    • Schedule a meeting with a career consultant via hireBING to connect your choice of major to career options
    • Conduct informational interviews with alumni, friends and faculty
    • Practice your interviewing skills with mock interviews, InterviewStream, and at the spring etiquette dinner
    • Revise your resume and LinkedIn profile with new experiences
  • Explore experience-based courses
  • Gain global perspective and enrich connections
  • Explore careers, industries, and your passion
    • Attend the Job and Internship Fairs in fall and spring semesters
    • Determine if further study will be required to reach your goals and attend the Graduate School Fair or Law Day in fall to plan your application timeline for junior year
    • Apply to attend employer visits
    • Apply for acceptance to the Connections for Success retreat with alumni and employers
    • Attend Research Days in the spring semester and network with faculty to gain your own research experience
    • Explore service at the Community Opportunities Fair in fall
  • International students: Engage with ISSS to ensure your paperwork is filed if and when you plan to work or intern
    • Attend ISSS/Fleishman programming on OPT/CPT and resources for your US job/internship search each year
