The Pre-Modern Book in a Global Context: Materiality and Visuality

CEMERS CONFERENCE

October 21 and 22, 2016

TRANSPORTATION TO BINGHAMTON

By air:

The Greater Binghamton Airport is located 8 miles outside of Binghamton; the airport is served by three airlines: Delta, United and American, with connections through Detroit, Newark NJ and Philadephia.

CEMERS will provide a complimentary shuttle-bus service to and from the airport and the conference hotels on Thursday, October 21 and Sunday October 23.  If you wish to use this service, please send an email to cemers@binghamton.edu with your itinerary.

By bus:

Binghamton is easily reached by bus from New York City (Port Authority Bus Station on 8th Ave in Manhattan).  There are two bus companies (Shortline/Coach and Greyhound) that cover this route; the trip takes between three and three-and-a-half hours.

Megabus sells a limited number of very inexpensive bus tickets for trips to be taken on the Shortline/Coach buses, though these tickets sell out fast and have to be booked precisely six weeks in advance.  See:

www.megabus.com

For Shortline/Coach tickets and schedules, see:

For Greyhound tickets and schedules, see:

By car:

Binghamton is approximately a three-hour drive from New York city and Philadelphia.

The conference hotels provide parking.

Free parking will also be available at Binghamton University's Downtown Center on Friday, October 21 and Saturday October 22.
