Banner Request

There are specific locations on the Binghamton University campus that can accommodate large banners for specific periods of time. Current locations include over Glenn G. Bartle Drive coming into campus, the east side of the University Union and the north facing wall of the parking garage.

Requests to hang banners in these locations must be made using the banner request form. Banner requests made verbally or in forms other than the ones found here will not be considered.

Terms of application

  • Binghamton University is a state institution and has sole discretion over what banners are and are not approved.
  • Submission of your request does not constitute approval. The applicant/contact on the original submitted application will be notified if the application has been approved or denied. If denied, the reason will be given. Note: The Campus Appearance Task Force will review and approve or deny all requests.
  • All requests are considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • There is no automatic agreement renewal, and those requesting banners must apply for each instance and location they wish considered.
  • The minimum number of days for any request is one week. There is no promise that any banner can remain in place longer than one month.
  • Binghamton University does not hang banners for political campaigns or for personal events.
  • Banners will only be considered for Binghamton University or Binghamton University-sponsored events.
  • All banner designs must be approved by the Office of Communications and Marketing.
  • Those who wish banner design services from University Creative Services should submit a separate Creative Services request.
  • Those who do not wish banner design services from University Creative Services should submit their design via pdf at least six weeks in advance of the date banners are to be in place to allow for production time if changes are required to meet University style and brand standards.

University Union banner details

  • The maximum number of banners that can be hung at one time is six, and the space may be shared so banners may be up for more than one event, organization, department, etc. at the same time.
  • Requests must be submitted at least six weeks prior to date banners are to be in place.

Requestors pay for creating, installing and removing their banners. Estimated costs of production, installation and removal of banners through the approved vendor are:

  • 1 banner = $570
  • 2 banners = $1,120
  • 3 banners = $1,650
  • 4 banners = $2,160
  • 5 banners = $2,650
  • 6 banners = $3,120

Banners are 78” w x 192” h and must comply with University style and brand standards and should utilize the banner design template.

Parking garage banner details

  • Only one banner can be hung at a time. As noted above, requests are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Requests must be submitted at least six weeks prior to date banners are to be in place.
  • Requestors pay for creating, installing and removing their banners.
  • Cost is approximately $425 for production of banner, plus cost of installing and removing, for a one-sided, 18-ounce vinyl banner that measures 288" (24') w x 40" h and has grommets every two feet on top with nylon webbing and D-rings and wind slits. 

Glenn G. Bartle Drive banner details

  • Only one banner can be hung at a time. As noted above, requests are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Requests must be submitted at least six weeks prior to date banners are to be in place.
  • Requestors pay for creating, installing and removing their banners.
  • Cost is approximately $470 for production of banner, plus cost of installing and removing of approximately $150, for a one-sided, 13-ounce vinyl banner that measures 288" (24') w x 40" h and has grommets every two feet on top, wind slits and nylon webbing and D-rings on reinforced corners.
