We've had De-Stress December, Manageable Midterms and now it's time for Stress-free Spring! Hopefully you can find some activities in this series that will help reduce the stress you may be feeling during this hectic time of the semester. Pay it Forward! w/RA Rob

Happy "Pay it Forward" Day! It's time for us to give back to others! Come to this event to learn about the "Pay it Forward" movement, and to understand how random acts of kindness can leave a huge impact on somebody's day/week/month/year/life. We will be discussing what the movement stands for, how to get involved, and why it is important. Throughout the event, we will watch a few videos that demonstrate what it means to pay it forward, and we will also do an activity to help bond students, as well as help them take that first step toward paying it forward.

Join M-HOPE to deflate your stress by practicing deep breathing using balloons. We'll also help you relax and inflate your happiness by teaching you how to make balloon animals!

International Coffee Hour

Relax by coming to this month's International Coffee Hour. This month's sponsor is Student Affairs. May Coffee Hour participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the sponsor while mingling with both international and domestic students. The coffee hours are informal and provide an opportunity to meet and learn more about each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Pop! The Stress Away

Finals Week is fast approaching. Take some time out of your day to relax, come to App and Pop the Stress Away! There will be carnival-themed activities such as a Soda "Pop" ring toss, Balloon Dart Board Challenge and Bubble Wrap Hop Along with prizes and handouts of bubbles and lollipops. Come out, relax and learn about healthy study habits and common de-stressing techniques from the Dean of Students Office and REACH Health Services Program!

You will be able to make your own play-dough, color, play games and even make your own trail mix to munch on! So bring a friend, have some fun and come learn how to take care of yourself!

This event will be right before finals week and will go along with the other stress-relief activities that will be happening at that time. Residents will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy yoga and free snacks right in their building. We will talk about how yoga is beneficial to one's health and how residents can incorporate it into their schedules to stay active and healthy, even with the workload they have.

Come take a break from studying and step away from your stress by playing with a group of therapy dogs in a casual and relaxed setting! This event will help students de-stress by allowing them to play with dogs outside and allow them to take their minds off of their schoolwork for a short time. In addition, it will help students that have pets at home reconnect with pets that they might miss. This can help curb the feeling of homesickness during a stressful time.

Outdoor Pursuits offers an afternoon of challenge, comradery and "higher education"! We know the pressures at the end of the semester are building and what a better way to really "test yourself? Tell a friend or a project group. Climb the cargo net and traverse the high ropes course then zipline down. Groups of four will be started every half hour. Sign up as an individual or with others. Space is limited. Sign up early.

Punch out your stress with a Pink Gloves Boxing fitness class. Pink Gloves Boxing (PGB) is a unique fitness program for women founded on the idea that everyone has a champion on the inside.   • The Dean of Students case manager will provide her services for students who make appointments or walk-in. For more information visit the case manager page here.
  • Look out for something happening in your residence hall or dining hall every day!
  • The Discovery Advisors will be sending out finals preparation tip sheets to their students as well as posting tweets with each of the tips throughout the remainder of the semester.
  • During May, any time that the Mental Health Outreach office door is open (C4, Newing side, 115), students can stop in for free coffee/tea, candy and encouragement! (Office hours are generally from 2-7 p.m. Wednesdays (May 6 and 13); Thursdays 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Thursdays (May 7 and 14); and 10 a.m.-noon Fridays (May 1, 8, and 15).
