Persico family

"When we were looking for schools for our daughters we specifically wanted a safe environment that offered a quality education. What we got was so much more. That's why we continue to support the Binghamton Fund. We believe in all that the University has to offer and we want other students to have the opportunities that our daughters have had at Binghamton."
Dr. Michael & Mrs. Joanne Persico (with daughters Joan '10 and Claire '13; Grace '02 and Anne '05 not pictured)

THe binghamton fund

powerful. immediate. essential.

The Binghamton Fund provides a powerful opportunity to make a gift every year that makes an immediate difference every day for students and faculty in areas that are essential to the University's success. The Binghamton Fund supports strategic initiatives critical to the success of our University's faculty and students. With these resources, University leaders seize opportunities that add depth and breadth to the University experience, and advance the goals identified in Binghamton's strategic plan.

Immediate and strategic

Your Binghamton Fund dollars are put to wise use immediately.  Gifts to the Binghamton Fund are directed to the University's greatest, immediate and most fundamental needs, such as scholarships and fellowships; research support for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty; mentoring programs and career fairs; laboratory equipment and library acquisitions; and admissions open houses and student activities. You can designate your Binghamton Fund gift to support the greatest needs of the University, or needs in any of the following colleges, schools or units:

Harpur College of Arts and Sciences
College of Community and Public Affairs
Decker School of Nursing
Graduate School of Education
Graduate School
School of Management
Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science
Anderson Center for the Performing Arts
University Art Museum
Campus Enhancement
University Libraries
Research and Technology
Student Life
Senior Challenge

Students not only benefit from gifts to the Binghamton Fund – they help raise funds through the Telefund. These student callers work for the BU Foundation, earning money that helps pay for college expenses while they seek to raise funds for the University’s most critical needs.

A smart option

Binghamton Fund dollars chart a course for the future.  The impact of gifts to the Binghamton Fund is felt in communities across the nation. Students who participate in or lead projects made possible by gifts to the Binghamton Fund develop valuable skills that serve them and society well, as they take their place in professional circles. And, faculty who advance research supported by gifts to the Binghamton Fund explore questions that may trigger the next revolution in health care, engineering or management.

Leaders in giving

Donors who make gifts to the University at the leadership level (single or cumulative gifts of $1,000 or more within the fiscal year) are recognized among the University's strongest supporters. The commitment demonstrated by gifts at this level helps the University to create exciting educational opportunities and to respond to the rapidly changing and competitive environment in higher education.

How to give

You may make a gift using a check or credit card, or give online. You also have the choice of making monthly payments from your checking account through our electronic funds transfer program. Gifts of stock are always appreciated. If your company participates in a matching gift program, the matched amount is credited to your total giving. The Foundation's fiscal year ends June 30.

Please give your gift today. It will go to work tomorrow.
