The English Language Institute, formerly the ESL Program, has served Binghamton University students since 1984. The program's mission is to provide classes and academic English-language support designed to increase non-native English speaking students' English language proficiency and facilitate their academic success at Binghamton University and beyond.
The institute's curriculum, geared toward the advanced language learner, is practically oriented and challenging, focusing on real-world expectations.
Please note that Binghamton University's English Language Institute is not an intensive English program (IEP) for students who wish to study English. It is an academic support program for students who have been admitted to the University into degree-granting programs.
