Our undergraduate and graduate programs prepare students for PhD programs and employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors including urban, regional, and sustainable planning, environmental analysis, assessment, and management, GIS and remote sensing, economic and urban spatial analysis, and teaching. Our faculty are dedicated teachers, as well as prominent scholars in their field who are glad to assist their students in pursuing research opportunities.

Undergraduate

Within its BA program, the department offers multiple tracks that allow students to specialize their program of study based on their interests. Students can take courses in physical geography, GIS, resource use, and planning, among others.

The Department of Geography at Binghamton University offers a Master of Arts (MA) in geography. We seek to foster and advance teaching, research and publication in the discipline of geography as well as train students to provide their expertise to the community at large.
