BIO
Dr. Mulcahy joined the Graduate School of Education as an assistant professor in 2007. She received her undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees at the University of Maryland, College Park. She taught in self-contained classrooms at the elementary and middle school levels in Montgomery County, MD.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Mulcahy’s research interests include education policies that apply to youth in corrections, provision of appropriate education and special education services to marginalized youth, and effective reading and mathematics instruction for youth with disabilities in public schools and for youth in corrections.

TEACHING EXPERTISE
Dr. Mulcahy teaches courses in secondary special education instructional methods, special education technologies, and behavior management.
