Golf team takes sixth at Big Sky Championship

The Binghamton golf team fired a team score of 295 to finish the Big Sky Championship in sixth place, with an overall score of 882.
Kyle Wambold led Binghamton for the third straight round, firing a team-best 70 (-2) Sunday, May 1. The junior finished the tournament at 212 (-4), to finish the tournament tied for seventh place out of the 40 golfers. Jesse Perkins continued his improvement, registering birdies at holes five, eight, 10, 13 and 16, en route to a 71 (-1). The senior closed his collegiate career with 224 over the three rounds, good for a T-25 finish. Finishing just ahead of Perkins overall was Zak Ottman at 222 (T-23) after a round-three 78. Jack Faraci’s 79 kept him off the Bingamton scorecard, but his 227 overall was fourth best on the team. Meanwhile Cal Addy used birdies on holes two and t13 to finish with a 76, Binghamton’s third-best score on the day.
Idaho overcame a four-shot deficit to edge Sacramento State 842-849. Hartford’s Evan Russell was the individual medalist with 206 (-10) overall.
This concluded the Bearcats’ 2015-16 season. The team graduates both Addy and Perkins, but will return six players for next year.
