Binghamton shot a third-round best team score of 289 (+1) on April 1, during the final round of the Fireline Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay GC in Grasonville, Md. Entering the final round, the Bearcats sat in eight place, but jumped three spots to claim their fourth top-5 finish and their second consecutive this spring season.
Seton Hall defeated America Sky member Northern Colorado in a one-hole playoff to take the tournament team crown.
Senior Trevor Fiedler finished with a final-round score of 73 that included birdies on three of the four par-fives on the Eastern Maryland Shore course. Fiedler shot a tournament best six-under par on par-fives and tallied a team-best nine birdies over the weekend.
Sophomore Bryce Edmister fired a 69 (-3) that featured a two-under par back nine that concluded with a birdie on the par-five 18th hole. Edmister joined Fiedler in the top-20 (tied for 19th), earning his fourth top-20 finish of the season and seventh of his career.
Junior David Cellura (T-31) and freshman Jack Sedgewick (T-73) rounded out the final-round scores, shooting a 74 and 73, respectively.
