Dean's Message

Dean Kendrick

Welcome to Binghamton University Libraries' website.

Looking back at my first semester, I am amazed! Not only am I proud of what we have accomplished in such a short time, but I am also deeply appreciative of the level of support and engagement demonstrated by the campus and greater community for all that we do.

From exhibits (such as the Chinese Cultural Experience Center's celebration of Chinese New Year), to events supporting learning and teaching (like our monthly Instruction Roundtable), to formats designed to capture important feedback (our newly-created Student Advisory Meetup) — we are met with enthusiasm.

That enthusiasm is inspiring. We find ourselves wanting to do more, to reach further and to not only better serve our current membership, but also to entice even more visitors into the inviting environment we continually create in support of your best learning and teaching experiences.

I have every confidence that our faculty, staff and student workers are more than up to this task and I am grateful to have such an experienced and dedicated team. I know they join me in anticipating what is yet to come from the Libraries as a result of our own focused efforts and through our ongoing collaboration with you.

I will continue to provide updates here on our progress as we move forward, although your suggestions and comments are welcome any time at

Sincere regards,

Curtis L. Kendrick
