"College Town" topic of Binghamton University SUNY BEST event


BINGHAMTON, NY - Members of the Binghamton University SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (SUNY BEST), along with local mayors, will discuss what it means to be a college town at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Binghamton University Downtown Center, 67 Washington St., Binghamton. This presentation is free and open to the public.

Area mayors Rich David (Binghamton), Gregg Deemie (Johnson City) and John Bertoni (Endicott) will share their views on town-gown relations, as well as the significance of Binghamton University and the City of Binghamton being more intertwined than ever. Binghamton was named one of the top 20 college towns in the U.S. by both The American Institute for Economic Research and Business Insider in 2015.

Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m.; the presentation will begin at 10 a.m.
