TAG (Thank-A-Giver) Day to celebrate donor support at Binghamton University
BINGHAMTON, NY -- Binghamton University will host TAG (Thank-A-Giver) Day, a campus-wide event designed to engage and educate students, faculty and staff about the impact of giving back, on Wednesday, March 15, throughout campus.
Organized by the Binghamton University Student Philanthropy Committee and The Binghamton Fund, this will be the fourth annual Tag Day event to take place at the University. Approximately 500 large, green tags will be placed across campus—from the libraries to the Decker School of Nursing, and everywhere in-between—to denote campus facilities, equipment and enhancements to academic programs that donors have made possible.
In addition to the tags, students, faculty and staff can pick up stickers indicating "I Give Back" for donors or "I Benefit" for those who wish to show the impact donor gifts have on their University experience.
According to the Binghamton University Foundation’s 2016 Annual Report, the University received over $9.3 million in donations in the 2015-16 fiscal year. These gifts pay for things not covered by tuition and state funding.
