Former UN weapons inspector to speak at Binghamton University


     Scott Ritter, former head of United Nations weapons inspection Team (UNSCOM), will deliver a talk, titled “Iraq: How We Got There, and Where We’re Going,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 1, in the Osterhout Concert Theater of the Anderson Center for the Performing Arts at Binghamton University.  The talk is free and open to the public.

      Ritter served with distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps before joining the United Nations’ weapons inspection team in 1991, taking part in over 30 inspection missions including 14 as chief.  Ritter has been called upon to testify in Congressional hearings and has engaged in talks with senior embers of NATO and the European Union.  

      Ritter's lecture is co-sponsored by the Binghamton University History Department, the Binghamton Political Initiative and Peace Action of New York State.
