Decker School of Nursing invites community to FAST

The Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University will hold a free program titled Facts for Action to Stroke Treatment (FAST) at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, at the East Side Senior Center located in the Fairview Methodist Church on 254 Robinson Street, Binghamton.

Registered nurses from the Decker School will teach participants how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke.  More than 750,000 strokes occur annually and according to recent studies 80 percent of all strokes may be preventable with proper attention to medical and lifestyle risk factors.

Lunch will be served following the program.  Anyone interested in attending the lunch is asked for a donation and to make a reservation by calling 607-723-4292.  For more information about the FAST program, contact Pam Stewart Fahs at 607-777-6805.
