Binghamton University to hold March events for BCC students: Open House and Instant Admission Day


Binghamton University will hold two events in March for Broome Community College (BCC) students seeking to learn more about earning a bachelor’s degree or planning to apply for the fall 2009 semester as a transfer student.

Open House at Binghamton University

On Friday, March 6, BCC students and their families are invited to an open house at Binghamton University. The afternoon event, scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will feature an information session, student-led campus tour, and discussion about successfully transferring coursework. The event will begin in the University Union, West Room 324. Applications and details for students interested in applying for Fall 2009 will be available. Registration is required for this event. Binghamton University Instant Admission Day at BCC

On Wednesday, March 11, Binghamton University will hold an Instant Admission Day for BCC students from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in BCC’s Office of Counseling Services, located in Suite 210 of the Student Services Building.

Binghamton University admissions counselors and academic advisors will be on hand to meet with BCC students who seek to transfer to Binghamton in Fall 2009 and major in the arts, sciences, engineering or human development. Applicants must have successfully completed 45 credits and a minimum grade point average of 2.8 to apply. Counselors will meet one-on-one with all applicants to determine admission to Binghamton. Students should bring official, sealed transcripts from previous colleges attended, and BCC will provide official transcripts for students. Approximately 1,000 of all entering students at Binghamton are transfers with more than half coming from two-year schools, including Broome Community College.
