As it gets closer to your arrival here in Binghamton, NY, we are asking you to help us better coordinate bus transportation from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City directly to your dorms here at the Binghamton University campus. Traditionally, we reserve a number of buses to take new dual diploma students from the airport directly to their dorm rooms with no other stops and transfers. We've found that, over the years, it's much easier on our arriving students. However, we need to know how many students wish to take advantage of this offer before we can reserve the correct number of buses and quote a cost for the trip.
Therefore, please email your flight information (airline, flight number, date of arrival, and arrival time) to firstname.lastname@example.org AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, so that we may coordinate the number of buses we need and what they will cost. Thank you!
We are still looking for 4th year students who would like to be considered for an orientation assistant position for the 2nd year students coming to Binghamton University for the Fall 2014 semester. If you are interested in this position, please submit the following three items to email@example.com:
1) a copy of your most recent transcript from your home campus in Turkey
2) a statement of why you would like to be chosen for this position
3) a copy of your resume
Students who turn in all requested documents will be considered for an orientation position. Students who are ultimately selected will be paid an hourly rate of $10.00 per hour and will be able to apply for a Social Security number. We will be selecting students around mid-July.
If you have holds on your account, the DDP Office won't be able to register you for any courses, including the place-holder DDP course. Without the place-holder DDP course or taking 12 credits or more per semester, you won't be considered as a full-time student.
Federal regulations REQUIRE that students in F-1 status be registered for a full-time course load each Fall and Spring semester until graduation. Failure to be registered as a full-time student is a violation of your non-immigrant status, will result in the loss of F-1 visa.
Then, in order to come back to BU, you will have to complete the visa application process and pay a SEVIS fee of $200 and visa application fee of $160 again.
