Bob Schmidt, PharmD

Robert Schmidt, PharmD, MBA, MHA is currently vice president, clinical services for United Health Services, in Binghamton, N.Y. In this role, Schmidt is responsible for senior leadership of the laboratory, radiology, physical therapy and rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary/special diagnostics and pharmacy services for United Health Services hospitals. Prior to serving in his current position, Schmidt was system director of pharmacy, providing pharmacy leadership for the system’s four hospitals, five community pharmacies and one specialty pharmacy. Before joining United Health Services, he served as the system director of pharmacy for the Guthrie Healthcare System located in Sayre, Pa.

Schmidt has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to both the pursuit and support of education. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University. He has also completed graduate studies in non-clinical areas, receiving a Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Scranton. Throughout his career, Schmidt has been active in the professional development of future pharmacists. Currently, he holds appointments as adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and as a preceptor for the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He also precepts the pharmacy administration rotation for the United Health Services PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program.

He and his wife René currently reside in Endicott.
