Lawmakers Take On Internet Of Things With New "Spy Car Act"

In July 2015, a privacy bill was presented that would forbid car manufacturers from using data collected from vehicles for marketing purposes, unless the owner consented. This was named the "Spy Car Act," which was meant to help protect drivers on the road from being hacked and having their data traced.
Car owners could not be prevented from using the car's features, even if they did not consent to the manufacturer's use of its data.
