SUNY grants awarded to Binghamton/SUNY Broome

SUNY System Administration announced $18 million in Investment and Performance Fund Awards for campuses. Chancellor Nancy Zimpher announced that the funding is the first-of-its-kind state investment expected to boost degree completion for SUNY students.

One of the fund awards received by Binghamton University involves a partnership with SUNY Broome Community College to assist in enrolling more students without a college degree into the educational pipeline. The program will involve efforts to bring those students who have left college without a degree back to school. Through this award, the two campuses will receive $360,000 to provide college access and support services to help local residents and current students finish their degrees at one or both institutions.
