Employees complete RF leadership program

The first Research Foundation Leadership Academy class participated in a graduation ceremony Feb. 29 in Albany. Binghamton University’s Laura Holmes, program associate with the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Partnerships, and Andrea Palmeri, managing director for the Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems, were among the participants.

Graduates unveiled their How to Improve an RF Process project that day, and Alexander Cartwright, SUNY provost and executive vice chancellor, gave opening remarks to the class and their mentors.

This comprehensive 15-month professional development program provided RF and SUNY employees working in research administration a chance to build their core leadership competencies and prepare for future opportunities. The curriculum included a 360 developmental assessment, executive coaching, public speaking modules, mentoring, campus tours and book reviews. It also addressed topics such as project management, diversity and inclusion, ethics and crucial conversations and provided a unique forum to learn more about the business of the RF.
