Alumni Association Special Recognition Awards

The Alumni Leaders Conference culminated with the presentation of the 2016 Alumni Association Special Recognition Awards. Vincent Daniel ’94, the financial guru who foresaw the 2008 financial crisis, and who was portrayed in the recent movie The Big Short, was the featured speaker at the recognition ceremony. Deborah Tannen ’66, LHD ’93, noted linguist and best-selling author, received the Alumni Achievement Award. She was a presenter at the conference, talking about communication styles, a topic at the heart of her many best-selling books. Barry Goodman ’79, co-CEO and executive director of trading at Millburn Ridgefield Corporation and The Millburn Corporation, received the Glenn G. Bartle Distinguished Alumnus Award. Amy Hyatt ’78, U.S. Ambassador to Palau, received the Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumna Award for Public Service and Contributions to Public Affairs. Gregory Reynolds ’08, executive for American Express, was presented with the Lois B. DeFleur Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.
