Welcome Back Weekend!

Elissa Vernheim, a neuroscience major from Bergenfield, N.J., shops for a poster of one of her favorite actors, Michael C. Hall from the hit show Dexter, during University Fest held in the East Gym parking lot. The festival kicks off the new school year, offers an opportunity for student groups and clubs to recruit new members and features lots of freebies including a popular favorite — books from under the big tent.

Welcome Back Weekend!

Welcome Back Weekend was a busy one for students this year, and one event in particular engaged all students on campus — University Fest. Billed as a “Campus/Community Celebration”, University Fest brought together the Binghamton community, upperclassmen and new students to celebrate the beginning of the academic year and to showcase the best Binghamton has to offer. Two hundred student organizations came out to table at the event and explained what their groups are all about to the more than 2,200 students who attended. More than two dozen vendors from the Binghamton area also participated and highlighted their businesses, including Kaplan Test Prep, local restaurants and United Health Services.
