Late Nite Madness kicks off basketball seasons

Binghamton University held its annual Late Nite Madness event starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Events Center. The 90-minute event ushered in the start of the 2012-13 basketball season.

Since 1999, Binghamton has joined hundreds of schools across the nation in hosting the annual event as a way of opening up the basketball season. Held in the West Gym the first five years (when it was referred to as Midnight Madness) and at the Events Center since 2005, Late Nite Madness has attracted as many as 2,000 Bearcat fans.
