Diversity topic of discussion sessions

The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) hosted13 programs that served more than 1,300 people during the fall semester, including four Diversity Talks, three of which were led by a Binghamton University staff member:

    • Stereotypical Racism, held Sept. 18, and led by Valerie Hampton, chief diversity officer. On Oct. 16
    • Overcoming LGBTQ Discrimination, held Oct. 16, and led by Dara Silberstein, executive director of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies
    • Gender Bias, held Oct. 30, and led by Jazell Johnson, health educator in the Decker Student Health Services Center Study-abroad and international experiences, held Nov. 5

Additional programs hosted by the MRC or co-hosted in partnership with other campus offices included the Cultural Fair, the Global Fiesta, Speaking Up and Getting Support, Alumni of Color Networking Event, two Student Leaders Meetings, an SEO Presentation and various Cultural Competency Trainings.
