Athletics department raises more than $10,000 for St. Baldrick’s

The Binghamton University athletics department Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)in conjunction with Residential Life held its third annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Fundraising and Shavee event over the weekend, raising more than $10,000 for childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s is a non-profit organization that raises money to fund pediatric cancer research.

A rapidly growing tradition at Binghamton, the St. Baldrick’s event is its third year after an extremely successful first two years. Following the 2012 event, SAAC, Residential Life and Alpha Phi Omega were recognized at the Dean of Students Leadership Awards for ‘Excellence in Collaborative Programming.’ Over the past three years, Binghamton St. Baldrick’s events have raised almost $50,000 for the fight to cure childhood cancer.
