DAY 1—THURSDAY, August 22, 2013

9:00am –11:30am Check in for New Students on Ground/Even Numbered Floors
Students who live on the ground/even numbered floors of their building will move in during this designated time.
Where: Your Hall's Great Room 
12:00pm –2:30pm Check in for New Students on Odd Numbered Floors
Students who live on odd numbered floors of their building will move in during this designated time.
Where: Your Hall's Great Room 
3:00pm – 4:15pm Family Welcome to Dickinson Meeting
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to hear from both the Assistant Director & the Faculty Master of the Dickinson Community. Learn about staffing & facilities in Dickinson, your student's safety, University policies, & so much more!
Students should attend the 3:00 pm Building-Wide Meeting listed below.
Where: Collegiate Center-Dickinson Side Fireplace Lounge
3:00pm – 4:00pm First Floor Meeting With Your RA and Other New Students
Come get to know your RA on a more personal level, as well as meet the new students on your floor. This meeting will give you helpful information on how to live successfully in the residence hall and succeed at Binghamton University as a first year student. Families should attend the 3:00pm Family Welcome listed above.

4:00pm – 5:00 pm Building-Wide Meeting
Students, this is your opportunity to meet the Resident Director (RD), Assistant Residential Coordinators (ARCs), Resident Assistants (RAs), and Res. Con of your hall. You will learn about community standards and expectations, and ask any questions you may have. This is your chance to meet the building staff that will be helping you throughout the year.

5:00pm–5:20pm Dickinson Welcome
Come get formally welcomed into Dickinson Community by the Assistant Director, Jeff Horowitz, and Faculty Master, Jeff Barker.

5:30pm–5:40pm Meet at the Object
Meet new people while you walk to Convocation as a Community.

6:00pm –8:00 pm Convocation and New Student Picnic
Receive your official welcome to the Binghamton University family.

9:00pm Outdoor Movies
There will be movies shown in the Mountainview Apalachian Dining Hall and C4 Multipurpose Room. Grab a couple of new friends and meet by the object. Students will then walk over to either area to view these movies.

DAY 2—FRIDAY, August 23, 2013

11:00am –2:00pm Dickinson Community Tour - Cancelled - Moved to 8/28/2013
Are you interested in seeing Binghamton's oldest community in its newest location? New students, current students, alumni, families, employees, and community members are encouraged to come take a tour of the new Dickinson. Tours will leave every half hour from the Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center (C4). 
Where: Collegiate Center-Dickinson Side Fireplace Lounge - Moved to 8/28/2013
1:00pm–5:00pm Healthy BU CPR Training
Bring some friends and learn how to do CPR. This is an interesting way to get to know people and a great skill to have.
Where: University Union Old Union Hall
1:00pm – 2:00 pm Dickinson Transfer Social
Come meet your fellow transfers in Dickinson and get to know some "seasoned" returners that can assist you with your transition.  
Where: Johnson Hall Great Room
1:00pm-2:00pm Out of State and International Student Social
Meet other students who are not from New York state, and maybe even a carpool buddy! Come join us for some fun activities and possibly meet someone from your home state.
Where: O'Connor Hall Great Room
2:00pm-4:00pm University Wide Transfer Social - Cancelled
This is an opportunity for you to meet other transfer students on campus! Come meet your fellow transfers and get to know more about the Transfer Student Services and Initiatives office. Meet at the object at 1:45pm and walk over with a returning Binghamton student and other transfer students.

2:30pm – 4:00pm Dickinson New Student Tour
Are you wondering what LH 3 means? Bring your schedule and find your classes for this fall. We will end our tour at the Dickinson Area Office, a place you can go to for all your housing needs.

4:00pm – 5:00pm Dickinson Area Office Reception
Come meet the Dickinson Area Office staff and see the collegiate center while enjoying free food and mocktails.
Where: Dickinson Area Office (C4, above the dining hall)
3:30pm- 5:30 pm Fun in the Quad
Come out and play some games, such as, sand volleyball, basketball, and other fun activities.

5:00pm– 7:00 pm Dickinson Community and Newing College BBQ Dinner
Come meet new people and grab a bite with fellow Dickinson and Newing residents.
Rain location: Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center (C4) Dining Facilities

9:00pm–2:00am Late Nite Binghamton in the University Union
Check out 9-hole glow golf, laser tag, video gaming and more!

DAY 3—SATURDAY, August 24, 2013

11:30am-12:00pm Dickinson Scavenger Hunt
Do you want to explore campus, attend University Fest, and become familiar with resources on campus?—then come to the Dickinson Scavenger Hunt. This is a full 24-hour team scavenger hunt. Teams can be made up of 3-5 members. During this scheduled time you will be able to pick-up of clues from a Dickinson Town Council executive board member at the "the object."

12:00pm–6:00pm UniversityFest
Meet student clubs and organizations; enjoy freebies including rides and games.
Where: Behind the library on the "spine"
6:00pm –7:00 pm Transfer Student Tour
Transfer students will have the opportunity to ask questions and tour Binghamton University with experienced students. This tour is led by returning Dickinson Binghamton students.
Where: Meet outside near the object
8:00pm Dickinson Open Mic Night
Here is another chance to meet new people and share your talents. Are you a comedian or a poet, do you play an instrument or sing, or do you prefer to observe? If so, this is the perfect place to be. Performers do not have to be pre-registered, just come by and show everyone what you can do. Come join us for some fun activities, a chance to meet new people, and some late night snacks.

DAY 4—SUNDAY, August 25, 2013

11:30am Scavenger Hunt Conclusion
Bring all objects and pictures collected to the gazebo where a Dickinson Town Council executive board member will be waiting to check the items. The team that has collected the most points will be awarded a gift card.

12:00pm –5:00pm RecFest
Do you like to work out and stay in shape? Come learn what the recreation center at Binghamton has to offer. You can obtain a membership and see the work out equipment.
Where: Campus Rec Center (East Gym)
1:00pm-2:00pm All Things Academic
Meet Faculty Master Jeff Barker for advice, questions and answers on how to make your academic experience successful right from the start. A returning student panel from Dickinson will join Faculty Master, Jeff Barker, in this discussion.

2:00pm– 4:00 pm Dickinson Town Council (DTC) Event – Social!
Come on down to hang out and meet your fellow Dickinsonians! There will be snacks, music playing, and fun games and contests. You will be able to enjoy some time with other residents in Dickinson before getting into the grind of the semester.

7:00pm-8:00pm Floor Meeting
Meet the people who you are in closest contact with; your floor mates. Learn about each other and what it is going to take to ensure a safe and enjoyable year. ROSTER CHECKS WILL BE DONE FOR VERIFICATION OF ARRIVAL AND CORRECT ROOM. YOU MUST SIGN IT or you could lose housing!

9:00pm Gaze at the Stars-Telescope Opportunity
Come gaze at the Binghamton night sky with Dickinson's Faculty Master Jeff Barker. This is an opportunity to learn and meet new people in a relaxed outside setting.
Rain Location: O'Connor Main Hall Lounge where instead of gazing at the night sky, you will learn about "How Instruments Work," presented by Faculty Master, Jeff Barker.
Where: Near the gazebo

Please use this time to get yourself ready for the first day of classes.
