Newing Rooms and Measurements
Newing is almost an entirely brand new community, in terms of buildings that is. Bingham was opened in 2009 and Broome, Delaware and Endicott were opened in 2011. The newly opened buildings represent the future of Newing College.
Bingham, Broome, Delaware and Endicott
Each hall has key card access and a semi-private room style. Each set of 3 bedrooms shares two private bathrooms. (One of these bathrooms contains the shower, the other has the toilet, and both have a sink.) Additional common bathrooms are also provided on each floor.

The University provides blinds for windows, but many students bring curtains to add a touch of color to the room. Curtains should measure at least the size of the window.
The beds are designed to fit twin Extra-Long sheets. Twin XL sheets can be purchased from a bedding store or department store. Each mattress is 80 inches long and 33.5 inches wide.
The bed can be raised lowered or raised high enough off of the floor to locate the dresser drawers underneath, for added arrangement options and floor space.
|Closets||The closets in all of the halls are a movable wardrobes with space for hanging clothes and drawer space. They also come with a full length mirror inside.|

The University is occasionally over-occupied at the beginning of the semester requiring that freshmen be temporarily tripled. When this occurs, the third desk and chair are available on request.
Refrigerators are available for rent from Microfridge.

Prohibited items in Residence Halls:
Items not permitted in all rooms, suites, or apartments include, but are not limited to, non-UL approved electrical items, halogen lamps, multi-headed lamps with plastic shades, extension cords, personal refrigerators larger than 5.5 cu. ft., immersible heaters and open-coil hot pots and hot plates, deep-fat fryers, toaster ovens, gasoline stoves or open-flame cooking appliances, sternos, kerosene lamps, kerosene heaters, propane and other chemicals, mercury thermometers, fog and smoke machines, clothes washers, freezers, dryers, dishwashers, electric heaters, air conditioners, waterbeds, and non-University issued lofts.
Toasters and crock pots are not permitted in any bedroom, or in suite areas, but can be used within the kitchen area only of an apartment. In addition, indoor electric grills and outdoor charcoal burners and grills are also prohibited for use within any residence hall or apartment, but may be used outdoors within the apartment communities as per the university’s BBQ policy.
UL-approved surge protected power strips and plug adapters are permitted, but cannot be connected to another similar item to add length to an outlet.
The possession or use of any type of firearm, ammunition, gunpowder, fireworks, air rifle, air pistol, blade-based weapon, sword, chukka stick or other dangerous object is prohibited.
Small mail and letters are delivered to your campus box located in the University Union, larger packages need to be picked up in then University Union post office.
