Welcome to the Office of Student Conduct
About The Office of Student Conduct
The mission of the Office of Student Conduct is to support the mission of both the University and the Division of Student Affairs. Specifically, the Office of Student Conduct seeks to work collaboratively with other departments to create a safe, secure, and civil environment where learning, growth and development can take place both inside and outside of the classroom.
To this end, the Student Conduct Office has three overarching responsibilities:
- Oversee the process of educating the campus community about the Code of Student Conduct.
- Oversee the process for enforcing the Code of Student Conduct.
- To create opportunities for involvement from the campus community in the aforementioned endeavors.
The Office of Student Conduct is located on the third floor of the Tuscarora Office Wing in College-in-the-Woods.
Sexual Assault Participant Guide
The Office of Student Conduct is pleased to announce the availability of an innovative Participant Guide (pdf) for students involved in the Binghamton University conduct process for allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.
Addressing allegations of sexual violence can be a stressful process for everyone involved. While not designed to cover every detail or question that might arise, the Participant Guide is a great resource and should provide a helpful overview of what students can expect in most cases.
The Sanctioning Guidelines (pdf 597kb) were developed to provide some general consistency to the various conduct boards to use in determining appropriate sanctions.
Appeals & Appeal Form
An important element of a comprehensive campus conduct system is a student's ability to seek redress of decisions made as a consequence of the process. A codified and active appeals process not only provides basic checks and balances, but also helps maintain the essential fairness of Binghamton's campus conduct process.Use this link to access the appeal form and useful information about student conduct appeals and the appeals process.
