Presentation Types 

Posters

Posters are often prepared for courses, professional conferences, meetings and other events. They are an effective tool for presenting your research, because they allow you to:

reach a wide audience

let your work speak for itself

network with fellow researchers

Academic Papers 

Papers are usually given at professional conferences and meetings in a moderated, themed panel session. They are timed, read aloud, and may be accompanied by some form of visual display that supports the points within the paper (ex. a power point presentation). Presenting an academic paper allows you to:

reach a specific audience

practice presenting in front of an audience

Other

Research presentations are certainly not limited to posters and papers. Presentations may also be conducted in the following forms:
