The following is a list of some of the equipment found in the Student Shop.
Students considering using the Student Shop for course-related work should review this list prior to the start of their project since the availability, types and quantity of equipment will have an impact on the design, planning and fabrication process.
LeBlonde Regal Engine Lathe. 15” swing, 30” inches maximum distance between centers. Digital readout and quick-change tool post.

Powermatic 1275 manual surface grinder. 6” by 12” magnetic chuck, 7” by 1/2” wheel. This is a small machine suitable only for very light work.
Two each, Delta VS6 15” floor model variable speed drill press. Adjustable table, 1/2" maximum drill diameter.
Delta 11-990 12” table-top, step-head drill press. 3/8” maximum drill diameter.

The Student Shop keeps a set of common hand tools in the RED toolbox in the middle of the shop floor.
Several complete sets of Fractional, Letter and Number drills are located in the shop. Metric drills are not available.
Tap and die sets
A set of both standard and metric taps and dies are located in the RED toolbox.
Chassis punches and hole saws
Hand operated round chassis punches in sizes from 1/2” to 3” are located in the shop.
Hole saws ranging from 1 1/2” to 4” are located in the shop.
All woodworking equipment is located in a separate room within the Student Shop. Due to New York State fire and safety laws, no woodworking is allowed in the metalworking area of the Student Shop. The following equipment is available:
Table saw, 24” x 24”.
Band saw, 12”.
Drill press, 12 speed, 5/8” maximum drill capacity.
Circular saw, 7 1/4”.
Delta dust collection system.
