Electrical and Computer Engineering at Binghamton

We work with electrons, photons, circuits, and components,
but people are at the core of all we do. As electrical and computer engineers, our research and teaching revolve around electrical components, circuits and systems, as well as microprocessors, software and hardware. But what we really do is improve electronic and computer systems to make your life easier - and teach students to do the same.

Plus, we're good at teamwork. Check us out. Our Electrical and Computer Engineering programs are both accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

four tenure-track positions available

Binghamton University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for four tenure-track Assistant Professor positions, with an expected start date of September 2014.

Two positions will support the Watson School and department activities in cyber-security, with highest priority for applicants in network security, power-grid security, information hiding, cryptography and/or hardware-based security.

The other two positions are focused on power/energy systems, with an emphasis on hybrid drives, low power VLSI, thin film solar cells, and/or smart grid (including security aspects).

The University has recently announced plans for a new multidisciplinary research initiative in smart energy. One of the cyber-security positions and the two power/energy positions are affiliated positions for smart energy.
