Start with the basics: choosing a major The Fleishman Center offers plenty of helpful online resources, career counseling services and career-exploration programs to help you identify personal interests, skills and values, and how they connect with Binghamton majors and possible careers. The next step to getting involved is...getting involved! Fleishman Center staff can help you find opportunities to gain experience, learn more about careers and bolster your employability. On- and off-campus internships, research, part-time employment, mentorship programs, involvement in student clubs and organizations, and community service volunteer opportunities are all great ways to develop the skills employers and/or graduate programs find valuable. Connect with employers and alumni The Fleishman Center provides you with opportunities to make connections with potential employers and alumni. Each year the Fleishman Center sponsors several events such as job and internship fairs, graduate school fairs and law day, and opportunities to connect with alumni at programs such as Metro Connections Night and Cool Connections/Hot Alumni. More than 1,800 employers annually recruit Binghamton students! Save the date! The University's Fall 2018 Job and Internship Fair takes place on Thursday, Sept. 6. Representatives from more than 120 for-profit, government and non-profit organizations are expected to attend and will be eager to speak with students from all majors and class years regarding full-time jobs and/or internship opportunities. |
