
FEATURED STORY: Binghamton in the City bolsters students' career development, University's visibility in NYC region
The power of Binghamton's alumni network could be seen and felt during the University's
winter recess this month. Hundreds of students participated in career development
programs in and around New York City during the week of Jan. 8. At each event, students
met with successful Binghamton alumni who were eager to answer questions about employers
and career fields, and to share their experiences and insights. The investment of
time by our alumni in employer visits and Metro Connections Night will help students

Alumnus in Virgin Islands leads hurricane relief effort
For Charles Kim '98, the most vivid memory after Hurricane Irma hit the U.S. Virgin
Islands last fall was the scene outside his friend's house. Near the top of a hill,
100 people gathered at the end of a driveway because it was the only place where cell
service was available. The spirit of coming together to overcome adversity is evident
in the effort he and his friends launched. In association with the Community Foundation
of the Virgin Islands, Kim – managing partner of Alpine Group USVI – and several other
local business leaders created the IMVI Virgin Islands Relief Fund. Read more.
