New Alumni Association board members

The Binghamton University Alumni Association welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors, a group of 22 highly engaged volunteers working closely with the Office of Alumni Engagement to plan and implement meaningful programs for you. The new members officially began their service July 1, and, prior to their election to the board, were involved in University initiatives connecting alumni and students with each other.

As a student, Igamberdiev was involved with Women in Business, was director of Mentoring Initiatives, and co-president of the Russian Student Union. She also volunteered to help international students with their language skills as part of the English Conversation Pairs program and participated in a winter education-abroad program to India. Since graduating, she has served on the School of Management Young Alumni Advisory Board and helped organize volunteer and social events as well as engage with current Binghamton students and alumni.

She lives in New York City and works for Ernst & Young on its debt capital markets team. Prior to that, she worked at several private direct-lending institutions focused on providing capital to middle-market companies. Outside of work, she volunteers for youth mentoring organizations and is a member of the Philanthropy Committee for 100 Women in Finance.

Lawrence Sprung, CFP® is the president and founder of Mitlin Financial, Inc. As the firm's president, he drives planning and asset management services as well as business development. Sprung earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Binghamton University, where he also played for the club ice hockey team. An as active volunteer, he serves on the National Board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and sits on its financial and investment committees. With his wife, Denise, he has raised more than $1 million for the organization through the Keith Milano Memorial Fund. The fund was created at AFSP in memory of Larry's and Denise's brother-in-law and brother, respectively. Sprung is co-chair of the Long Island event committee for the Alumni Association's Metro New York Chapter, responsible for organizing, scheduling and hosting Binghamton alumni events on Long Island. He is consistently networking with fellow alumni and assisting new graduates as they embark on their careers.
