Binghamton University Small Business Development Center presents statewide awards to local businesses

Shailesh Upreti, CEO of C4V and chairman of iM3NY, and Jacob Kumpon, of KLAW Industries, were presented with awards from State Director of the NYSBDC Sonya Smith, on Aug. 29 at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator in downtown Binghamton. iM3NY, which won the Technology and Innovation Business of the Year award, is located at the former IBM campus in Endicott and is an independent lithium-ion cell manufacturer that commercializes cell chemistry developed in the USA. KLAW Industries, which won the Millennial Entrepreneur of the Year award, has engineered and developed a process of converting contaminated glass from recycling facilities into Pantheon, a cement replacement for use in concrete.
