Go Green Institute

The program is led by a dedicated group of Binghamton University faculty members and graduate students, as well as faculty from SUNY Broome and teachers from local school districts. The Go Green Institute brings together middle and high school students for an intensive 10-day, hands-on learning experience centered on the theme of a greener living environment. The institute helps students explore issues of science, math and engineering as they relate to creating a sustainable living environment. Activities include experiments in University research labs and field trips to the University's Nature Preserve and Center of Excellence. Participants develop their own research project on topics related to energy generation, storage and use.

Chemistry Olympiad

Overview

Approximately 10,000 U.S. high school students enter local Chemistry Olympiad competitions vying for a chance to compete in the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad and the International Chemistry Olympiad.

ACS local sections conduct local competitions each March to select nominees for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad.
