Background

Colleen Stavola is a licensed master social worker who grew up in the Binghamton area. She attended Binghamton University for both her undergraduate and graduate work in human development and social work, respectively. She has been trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has focused her post-graduate work around supporting and working with adults and youth who have experienced trauma. The predominant theoretical approaches she uses in her counseling practice are cognitive-behavioral-, mindfulness- and solutions-focused. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, bowling, theater, traveling and reading.
